Mark began racing with Rye House in 2004 and his career so far has seen him ride for Sittingbourne in 2005 before representing Mildenhall in the Academy League in 2006, then gaining a place in 2007 with the Fen Tigers (Mildenhall) at Premier League level. Last year he 'doubled up' with Mildenhall (Premier) and Sittingbourne (Conference).
Victim of a 2008 track crash that left him suffering from a crushed vertebrae 21 year old Mark Baseby is looking for a more enjoyable campaign in 2009.
Mark sustained his injuries whilst riding at Premier League level with Mildenhall which left him sidelined and unable to take his place alongside his younger sibling Aaron for Conference Leaguers Sittingbourne. The brothers however paired up again in 2009 with the Buccanneers.
Mark has been signed by the Poole Pirates as a full asset from the Kings Lynn promotion following his impressive start to the season.
Mark was sold to Kings Lynn as part of the sale of the Mildenhall Fen Tigers and joins Aaron as a full Poole asset.
